Wouldn’t it be lovely to simply ‘let go and let flow’ and free yourself from the emotional baggage that disempowers you? I’m not sure I know anyone who has said ‘No’ to this question.
I’ve had a rapid ride of spiritual and healing journeys over the last few years and Breathwork has been an integral part of this.
About four years ago, I had one of my most profound experiences when I was taught a ‘connected breathing’ technique while in Costa Rica. Over the years since it has become part of my regular practice, an additional skill and a healing modality I have shared with many.
It has become such a popular session! Emotional breakthroughs, trauma release, improved wellbeing, reduced stress and anxiety, insights and spiritual connections in addition to deep healing and emotional resolution are key outcomes of this amazing modality.
We’ve been very fortunate lately with the good weather, even though some of the tribe numbers drop on a hot day we’ve managed to breathe Al Fresco which takes it to an even deeper level.
So what’s this ‘fashionable’ new modality all about?
And I say ‘fashionably’, tongue in cheek. Have you noticed how many people are starting to teach breathwork? It’s the new thing. And yet we have been breathing all our lives haven’t we? Or have we?
I have trained in and studied a variety of breathing techniques for hours and hours and hours and have only b-r-e-a-t-h-e-d ‘consciously’ for the last few years.
Mostly, the techniques I share change emotional states with additional benefits for the mental, emotional, physical and even spiritual aspects of who we are.
From training, personal, and client experiences I’ve learned that if we continually suppress emotions, eventually we explode! If you’ve ever been witness to, or personally experienced, an explosion of emotion that appeared to be triggered by something relatively insignificant this is often the result of suppressed emotions.
Most of us, at some point, ‘lock down’ emotions in our bodies through fear of expressing them, which can harbour feelings of resentment, anger, shame, grief, sadness and guilt.
Emotion is simply energy in motion and when we resist expressing emotions they become embedded in our nervous system layer after layer after layer. This can impact our emotional state and often results in feelings of anxiety, stress and depression to name a few.
The good news is that by changing our breathing pattern we can start to shift the stuff we have been hanging onto! Using a specific breathing technique, sound vibration and affirmations we start to shift the stuck stuff out of the body – AKA, intention, movement and breath.

Breathing techniques to reduce anxiety, reduce stress and bring yourself back to a state of calm
I teach a variety of breathing techniques and during lockdown I was asked if I would create a short and simple Zoom session to help and support leaders in education. I thought It might be beneficial to share this with you all.
In this session, you will learn about the power of the breath and how even just a little bit of movement and breathwork can help to detoxify and de-stress the body.
As a result, these practices offer you ways to feel more energised, balanced, empowered, calm and connected. The video is about 45 minutes long but you can jump in and out of it to suit your schedule.
And just in case you didn’t know, I am a Holistic Coach, I mention it at least twice on the intro – ha ha ha!
I’d love to know how you get on with these techniques, please let me know if you’ve found them helpful x
See you next time, much love Jacqui & Dave x
