Let me introduce you to one of my most well-thumbed books – The Earth Diet by Liana Werner-Gray. This book really started to change the way I thought about food and how to cook ‘whole foods’ from scratch.

It’s a commitment and I haven’t always got the time or the organisational skills to have everything in stock. But one thing’s for sure, I was introduced to pure cocoa and it changed everything. Chocolate avocado mousse, chocolate sauce, chocolate balls, no-bake chocolate cake. The list is endless, guilt-free chocolate recipes that are good for you!
Beachy balls
We’re often asked what is in our complimentary Beachy balls (the sweet treats you all seem to love so much after a class), so I thought I’d share the ingredient list with you. Although the conversation tends to go a bit like this …
- Some of this
- Sometimes some of that
- If we’ve got any of that left we use that
- Tonight they’ve got … in
- A little bit of this
- Lots of that ?
Sweet treats
Here is Liana’s recipe and we add whatever else we have available on the day.
All organic, where possible.
- 1 cup nut meal (finely ground almonds or other nut)
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons of maple syrup or raw honey
Here’s the rest of the ingredients, we just swap them around, but the staple is ground almonds, cocoa powder and maple syrup. Have a play, make your own – you’ll not want to reach for a Galaxy bar again when you know these are healthy and soooooo good!
- Organic extra virgin coconut oil
- Spirulina
- Goji berries
- Dates
- Protein powder
- Sunflower seeds
- Macca powder
- Coconut flakes – topping
- Almond flakes – topping
Simply pop it all in a bowl, mix, make into balls or roll into a slab, add any toppings, refrigerate et voilà!

As with all our teachings, we encourage you to make your own choices, go with what works for you. Try a little bit of this and that, if it doesn’t work for you try something else.
Enjoy x
